  • TL:DR (Too Long, Didn't Read). What's the service all about?
Our service aims to be different from current dating sites. Our process is to be more deliberate and thoughtful about our matches. Here's how it works in a nutshell - You sign up to our service by providing your own details as well as your match preferences. This is done on our website (no, we're not an app). We will send you to an external website (16personalities.com) for you to take an MBTI assessment. We use this to improve our matching algorithm. You don't have to use this site - you may choose other similar sites. Email to us the results of the assessment (admin@kismetphilippines.com). Submit documentary requirements. Why do we require so many? Simple. We are a privacy first service and we want to ensure that your matches are who they say they are. We aim to minimize, if not avoid, catfishing, ghosting and other annoying occurrences. That's it! ** Note that we are on beta testing at the moment. We have not started any matching.
  • What makes Kismet different from other dating sites?
Our service is aimed at individuals who prefer to maintain their privacy while at the same time gaining a deeper understanding of potential matches before taking the next step. Unlike other services, we take time to evaluate the candidates and suggest potential matches. Each candidate has been vetted, giving our customers peace of mind that they are who they say they are. While not 100% guaranteed, we believe these extra steps ensure that our customers do not waste their time on unsuitable matches. If you'd like a change from the usual fare from other services, give Kismet a try - it's 'Match Better.'
  • What are the steps in signing up for Kismet?
Click on the 'sign up' button on our main page. Complete the two sections of our questionnaire - your own details and your preferences Review and accept our T&C Upon completing step 2, you will be directed to do an online MBTI assessment. Click on the 'assessments' button. Note that this is an external site, unaffiliated with Kismet. You are of course able to use an alternative of your choice. Once the MBTI assessment is done, you will receive in your email an assessment report. Please forward this to admin@kismetphilippines.com Submit our documentary requirements (which can be found on our requirements page https://www.kismetphilippines.com/requirements. Done!
  • Does Kismet accept foreign nationals in its registered pool of singles?
There is an existing law that prohibits matching Filipino women to foreign nationals. Although Kismet only provides an online dating service, a date may result into a more meaningful relationship ending up in possible union of marriage. It is therefore a conscious decision of Kismet to not accept foreign nationals into its registered pool of singles.
  • If I am separated from my spouse, will I be eligible to sign up?
At this time, we are making Kismet available to single (unmarried) individuals.
  • How soon can I get a date once I register?
There are many factors to consider: Your profile, your preferred attributes for a date, and the result of your MBTI personality rating. A match considers all these factors and should meet a minimum match rate before we consider a possbile match. Depending on the variables, a match may be declared anywhere between a few days to a few months.
  • Why are the photos of your clients not publicly made available online?
We value the privacy of our clients. Unlike the dating apps that publishes photos of their clients, we only reveal the photos when a match has been made by our "matching" program. This is revealed only to the matched couple.
  • Do you publicly make available the personal data of your clients?
No, we do not. Similar to photographs, we only reveal the nickname and age together with the photo to the matched couple. We do not reveal the full name and contact details of our clients. We believe the matched individual has the option to reveal such information during the date. We value the privacy of our clients.
  • Do you accept clients younger than 18 years old?
No, we do not. Engaging a dating service is an adult decision. Our clients have to be of legal age.
  • Why do we need to submit documents like I.D.s?
Kismet intends to ensure that clients who wish to join must validate information about themselves. Their age and nationality must be supported by government documents (eg. Driver's license or passport).
  • If my declared/generated match is not available within the month, but is available next month, may I still ask Kismet to arrange the date the following month?
Yes, as long as both individuals are still amenable to seeing each other for a date. Kismet may still arrange the date.
  • Who spends for the actual date?
Kismet does not pay for the expenses during the date. The couple spends for the date. Kismet suggests going "dutch" - at least on the first date.
  • Do I have to give feedback to Kismet after the date?
Yes, part of the condition when a date is being arranged, is for Kismet to determine if the client wishes to continue to make an active "search" for other individuals. A satisfied client, may mean two things: The couple hit it off and has decided to continue dating (in this case, we will no longer match the client with other clients) or an individual still wishes to date other clients. This also helps improve our matching algorithm, for future matches.
  • Is Kismet available nationwide?
Initially, it will be made available in NCR and its immediate surrounding regions.
  • Is there a fee for the service?
We plan on offering a paid service at some point in the future. For the moment, the service is free.
